HOMEWORK...!

TO ALL INCOMING GRADE 8 STUDENTS (2006-2007)...

GREETINGS!

PLEASE make sure to have accomplished all your summer holiday homework/assignments by the time you show up in my English 8 class next school year...

• FIRST...you should have read five (5) fictional story books and each book should have no less than 100 pages; aside from these books, you are required to have read the book The Little Prince...this means that by the time school starts, you should have completed reading six (6) books in total...! Furthermore, make sure to have taken notes on all the books you read...!
• SECOND...you should read, study, and understand the 82 Literary Terms from the back of the Literature 8 textbook...know their meanings! Since the Grade 8 students have already returned their textbooks, I suggest you either photocopy the list from the library or find a Grade 8 student who has a copy of the terms and borrow or ask it from them...!
• THIRD...you should read, study, and understand the 100 Grade 8 Vocabulary Terms I expect you to know by the time you enter my classroom next school year...know their meanings! I have listed the new 50 Vocabulary Terms below...the other 50 terms you can get from any Grade 8 student...!
• LASTLY...every two weeks, I am going to post a question or statement here on BLOGSPOT which I expect you to respond and answer within two weeks. For instance, I am going to give you your first one on Monday, 12 June 2006, which means you have from 12 June to 25 June to post your response before I close the blog. Then on 26 June 2006, I am going to post the second blog and you have another two weeks to respond...get what I mean?! If you don't, then ASK SOMEONE WHO DOES!

Well that's it...! Remember...everytime you neglect to respond to a blog posting, there will be deductions to your grade! Again...first posting to look out for is on Monday, 12 June 2006...do not forget!!! Have a GReight Summer Holiday and keep studying and working on your English reading, writing, and speaking skills...or else...!!! CIAO!!!
