TO ALL GRADE 8 STUDENTS...
CONGRATULATIONS! You have survived First Quarter in my class! When we get back from the break, we are headed towards three more quarters of fun-filled adventures in learning. I know what you're thinking...why wait?! Okay...let's not! So, here are your homework/assignments for the First Quarter Break. Learn-learn-learn and remember...No Day In Which You Learn Something Is A Complete Waste...!
LITERATURE 8
Read and Understand “Broken Chain” pp. 29-36; take notes and dialogue with your text…!
On a WSP, do Reading Check on page 38…refer to Reading Skills and Strategies on page 28…summarize it well…!
On an A4, do number 4 (Worth A Thousand Words) on page 39…on a separate A4, explain in 5-7 sentences (DS/TNR/F12) why you chose/decided to illustrate the picture you drew...!
BOOK REPORT…in no more than three pages…A4/DS/TNR/F12…tell me what you think is the “climax” of your story and explain why you say it is so. First, write the part or parts that tell what you think the climax is. Then after that, explain why you think this is the climactic part and give specific examples from the book that will support your explanation…you do not need to write the supporting details down, just give the page and paragraph number from the book…!
GRAMMAR & WRITING 8A
* DO NOT DO Worth A Thousand Words ANYMORE…!!!
Browse through the following websites listed below. Choose a topic that appeals to you the most from any of these sites and study it well. Then, prepare a report on it in a lesson form, which you will be presenting/sharing with your classmates given a 20-minute teaching session.
Do not choose a topic we have already discussed in class such as
PARTS OF A SPEECH,
S-V AGREEMENT, etc. There are so many topics to choose from which is why it is going to be a
first come first serve basis. After you have chosen your topic,
IMMEDIATELY e-mail me through my
spiderman1966_the_one@yahoo.com account and tell me the topic of your choice. If you were the first one who picked that topic, then it is yours. If someone else beat you to it, then you have to find something else…which is why you should have a first choice of topic, a second choice of topic, or even a third choice of topic…just to be sure!
Then, write a paragraph or two (in no more than 2 pages…A4/DS/TNR/F12) connected with your chosen topic. First, explain why you chose the topic, and second, how are you going to present your lesson report……!
I wish you all a safe and wonderful break...come back to school REFERESHED and ready to Rock-N-Roll with Quarter Number Two...! Be good and study well! CIAO!!! Mr. A
